Tree Lake is 33 feet deep with a surface area of 71.5 acres, 6% is under 3 feet and 28% is over 20 feet, total alkaline is 133 p.p.m., shoreline of 1.33 miles, the bottom consists of sand, gravel and silt. The Lake is a drainage or through-flow lake. Fish in the lake are as follows; Pan fish, Lg. Bass, Northern Pike and recently stocked Walleye. Mud Lake is to the North and Penny Lake to the South. Wetland areas are located in the Northwest corner and the Southwest side of the lake.
There is a swimming area at the county park (Peterson Park). Located Northeast is an outlet stream, inlet stream is located in the Southwest near the boat landing. Tree Lake is located in the town of Alban, Portage County Sec 3 T. 25 N. R 10 E. 1145 feet above sea level 44.673*North 89.274*W.
